Blake Harris is a bestselling author, filmmaker, and the brains behind Console Wars, a comprehensive “business thriller” about the epic battle between Sega and Nintendo. Console Wars is soon to be a feature film in a partnership with Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg as well as legendary producer Scott Rudin (think The Social Network, Moneyball, The Truman Show, and every other awesome movie ever) and also a documentary that Blake is co-directing.

Blake also writes for Paul Scheer’s How Did This Get Made? podcast where he interviews the creators of unsuccessful movies about… how they got made. He’s also working on a new book to be published by HarperCollins about the unlikely resurgence of Virtual Reality. In short, he writes about really cool stuff.

We explore the journey Blake took from being a commodity trader to being a screenwriter and author, and how entrepreneurship comes in many flavors. We also get into a deep and rich discussion around fake news, fake reality, and how it’s all part of the same insatiable human desire for sensationalism and tribalism. We even go so far as to say that “President Trump might have a point about fake news” which if taken out of context could rub a lot of people the wrong way — and it perfectly demonstrates how pretty much everything we consume today are quotes taken out of context.
